Sweet Spot

I was telling someone the other day that I feel like Kennedy and I have really found our stride. No, she doesn't sleep through the night (someday...) but we've found what works for us to get us both the rest we need to be happy each morning. No, she's not always happy, but she is getting better at communicating to me what she needs to get happier. Just in general, things are in this really good place. And just when I'm thinking I couldn't love this girl any more....she says "mommy" and my heart nearly explodes from happiness.

Clear out of the blue today, she easily says "mommy" and then would repeat it when asked for the rest of the night. Now, I'm not certain that I'm labeled "mommy" yet, but the fact that she can say it at all just astounds me.

She's all about trying to use her language skills lately. Here she's trying to say the word "blue." She actually had done a better job than this, but of course when I tried to record she was really ready for her binky and was just trying to placate me... (as an added bonus, you get to see the result of K "helping" me with laundry in the background)

 

And then today, she was just talking up a storm and watching the world outside. The bonus in this video is watching Nutty trying to figure out if she's going to succeed in letting them both out the front door...
