Waiting (Part 2)

So as we’re waiting on the results of this IUI, we get more news that causes waiting and praying…

We got word late Monday that Andrew’s mom had been admitted to the hospital in Madison, WI. She (along with the rest of us) discovered that in the past year, she’s been having heart attacks occasionally. That word occasionally makes it seem so much more casual than I want it to be, but I can’t come up with another way to say it right now. Intermittently? Whatever. In addition, she had blood going from her heart into her lungs, which was causing it to be very difficult to breathe.

After hearing the news, my amazing Uncle Ernie called and booked Andrew a flight to Wisconsin, and he was on a plane about an hour after I arrived home from school.

Just now we got the newest update. After a heart catheter test, it was determined that she has two blocked arteries but that one artery is working very well and apparently, that one is the most important. She will not need surgery right now. They want to put in a defibrillator to make sure that if she were to have some kind of heart arrhythmia, the defibrillator would shock her heart. They’ll also We’re thankful that she does not need major surgery. We’re praying that we get a LOT of years with Momma Eckert, and right now they haven’t been promised to us.

Do you have room for us in your prayers TWICE? Thank you for praying that we’re pregnant and thank you for praying that Andrew’s mom will get stronger and healthier every day.

The Wait and News.

Well, originally I wasn’t really posting details about our current IUI cycle on the blog…and then I realized that pretty much everyone who reads the blog already has all the information, so why wouldn’t I just write about what’s on my mind?! We had our IUI last Friday, the 13th. Right, I see the irony. I’ve decided its good luck. Go with me on that one, would you?

And now we wait.

Now, as you know, I don’t much care for waiting. But since Mother Nature insists upon it, I don’t have much of a choice in the matter.

So we wait.

On Friday, I’ll go in for a blood test at Shady Grove and they’ll tell me that I’m pregnant.

DID YOU SEE THAT OPTIMISM? I’m patting myself on the back for that.

In other news…we’re moving to Georgia this summer!

Andrew will be going to MCCC, an Army course for Infantry Officers that has a bunch of Marines attend it as well. He’s been told that we’ll need to be there in August. It’s going to be a new adventure for us, for sure. We’ll live in base housing for the first time, we’ll live on an Army base, and I won’t be teaching. Oh yeah, and we’ll be moving just in time for me to have a baby in a state we’ve just arrived in. Notice that I used the word “adventure” which doesn’t bring to mind a stressed out, worried Ashley….I’m trying here.

I’ve become a serious Pinterest addict recently. I blame Melissa and Shannon. That being said, I got these two GREAT ideas from there.

First: Chocolate Pudding that is SERIOUSLY GOOD AND GOOD FOR YOU. Yes, I know I’m yelling. I needed you to hear me, loud and clear.

The original (and the recipe) can be found here.

Here’s mine!pudding

Second: The “I love you because” board. Andrew and I are loving leaving each other notes to wake up to and come home to. It’s really nice, since we have a lot of days that we don’t get to see each other very much at all.

The original is here.

Here’s mine! Please note, those roses are seriously easy to make. WHO KNEW?!

Hello 2012!

I am definitely behind in my blogging duties. I owe you a post about Christmas and a post about our NYC trip! But sorry, that will have to wait a day or two because I'm simply too lazy to get off the couch to go dig out the camera and download pictures. So it'll have to wait.

It's been a really busy week. We're back with Shady Grove Fertility and that means lots of trips to Woodbridge and back for me. But I'm not worried about that because I'm SO hopeful of the great things that are to come this year. There are so many things I'm thankful for right now and I'm in the practice of thinking positively that everything is just going to get better from here. I'm sure that this is the year that Andrew and I have been praying for- the year our healthy baby will be born.

Now, in the positive, hopeful spirit......snow, where are you? I mean you peeked out the other day, but it was only enough to tease me. That's not kind. I vote for a colossal storm in February. And for those of you who live in this area, you will understand when I tell you that to spell the word "colossal" I envisioned the donuts boxes at Shoppers.....oh dear.

I wish you all a wonderful Thursday, and I'll catch up on the blog soon!
