Kennedy’s First Christmas…Part 1

Kennedy was lucky enough to have a super cool friend named William who’s parents know Santa! We took her over to Will’s house to get her picture taken with the jolly ol’ elf himself. The best pictures of the Mommy’s, Daddy’s and both babies are over here on the Y’s blog.

So, she’s not THAT brave by herself…but once you add Mommy, she’s MUCH better :-)

IMG_1749

To be honest, her favorite thing about this visit with The Yuditsky clan was discovering that she really liked the way Leo’s fur felt…

Then it was time for the annual Christmas cookie tradition. This year it took us multiple days to get all of the frosting and decorating done, but we did it!

Two of Kennedy’s favorite playmates, her Grandmommy and Grandaddy showed up to spend Christmas with all of us.

Kennedy got to experience her very first flakes of snow. (That white spot next to my head is snow, just trust me.)

And she enjoyed watching all that was going on around her from the comfort of her daddy’s lap…or from the Ergo.

And then on Christmas Day, fully in protest of the dreaded tummy time, Kennedy rolled over for the very first time! She doesn’t find her new trick to be fun at all yet. She simply has such hatred of being left on her tummy that she HAD to figure a way out of it. I don’t mind either way…it still makes me happy!

Stay tuned for Part 2, Christmas Day festivities, coming soon :-)

Happy Anniversary!

6 years ago Andrew and I got married. It really doesn’t feel like it was all that long ago…and then I look at the pictures from our big day and see how much everyone has changed since then and realize that it has been a significant amount of time. In honor of our 6 year anniversary, I give you some wedding highlights! (I have mostly chosen to pick on those of you I know read the blog….)IMG_0977

See? She’s cheering for his birthday!

(The mysterious word under her hand is “makes”)

Meeting Baby William!

Kennedy got to meet her newest friend William yesterday. Oh my goodness is he tiny and precious and wonderful! We posed the two together on the floor and attempted to get some good pictures of the two of them.

Kennedy: Excuse me, what’s going on here?

William: I’m feeling too tired to pose.

IMG_1618

Kennedy: I could just throw this hand out to see what he’s all about….

William: Look away!

IMG_1629

Kennedy: Contact achieved!

William: Don’t make me throw down here! I may be three days old, but I’m tough!

IMG_1632

Kennedy and William: Um, making us hold hands is NOT cute.

IMG_1634

William: I SAID, “IT’S NOT CUTE!”

IMG_1635

Kennedy: Hey look! It’s Mommy!

William: Finally, she left me alone and someone gave me back my pacifier. Ahhhh, peace and quiet.

IMG_1641

We thought the size difference between the two was hysterical in this swing…

And finally, we captured some great shots of the parents visiting too!

Thankful on Thursday

Today I am thankful for baby William's safe and healthy arrival. We can't wait to meet him and introduce Kennedy to her newest BFF.

I am thankful for todays art project time with Sarah and her baby girl. It was great to have playtime for mommy and Kennedy!

I am thankful that my hubby came to meet Kennedy and I for dinner and wandering time at Wegmans after we got stuck in traffic on the way home and had to give up and wait it out. I am NOT thankful for DC traffic.

I am thankful that while living here I have made some of the moat amazing friends that I have been lucky enough to share some of the highest highs and lowest lows with.

I am thankful that I also have friends from elementary school, high school and college years that I still count among my favorite people.

And I'm thankful for my family. Kennedy is so lucky to be growing up with Aunts uncles and grandparents who love her so much.

Happy Friday!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We’ve started to get festive around here! The past few years Andrew and I have settled for using our fake Christmas tree, but for Kennedy’s first Christmas we just HAD to have a real one. We decorated it last weekend!

Andrew is always in charge of putting on the lights. (No complaints here…)

Kennedy and I were in charge of putting up our first family ornament- a gift from the Midyettes that has the three of us featured as cute little frogs!

IMG_1509IMG_1516

I was feeling so festive I had to try on Kennedy’s new reindeer bow even though I don’t yet have a headband to match it…so pretend the headband isn’t blue, would you?

IMG_1507

And here’s a clear display of little miss’s attitude…”Are YOU in the holiday spirit?!”IMG_1517
