11 Months Old!

Y'all. She's 11 months old. How did that happen?!

Height/Weight: Who knows. She's tall. She's heavy. I'll let you know next month :-)

Eating: Still nursing, but she has cut back significantly this month. She almost always nurses before she sleeps and she nurses at night. She's a great eater overall. The past week she's been so excited to do other things, that she's favored the pureed food pouches that allow her to focus on other things and eat at the same time. She loves to feed Nutty...from her hand...from her high chair...  Yeah, I could do without that. But try to convince the two of them that it's a bad idea...and eat your own breakfast/lunch/dinner... right. No go.

Sleeping: No sleep awards yet. I'm going to add that "yet" because one of these days I'm going to be doing one of these posts and I'm going to get to say she's sleeping through the night. And I'm going to buy her a trophy. Someone remind me, please?! She goes to bed around 8, some nights sooner, some nights a little later and she wakes up between 6 and 7.  Normally, around 11 she wakes up and wants to snuggle, so I bring her to bed with me. Then she'll wake up once or twice more normally to nurse and go back to sleep. It's a very rare occasion that she is awake for more than about 5 minutes before we're both drifting back to sleep. She's taking two naps a day pretty consistently. I'm able to "ignore" her nap time for about an hour most of the time and she isn't too cranky about it.

Playing: Walking while holding someone's finger with ONE hand (NOT TWO...THAT'S FOR LITTLE KIDS...) is her super favorite thing right now. She also loves anything that involves catching, throwing or playing with a ball.
This toy: . has been her favorite for awhile now and continues to be the favorite. She loves all the other toys that she has that use these same balls, too!

Clothes: 12 and 18 months still. I'm pretty sure she's just been getting taller, which in summer clothes, doesn't amount to much size change.

Language: Mama, Dada, Hi, Dog, That, Uh Oh and Up have all made appearances. Mama and Dada don't seems to be attached to the appropriate people yet, but sometimes its hard to tell about Mama, since all words are directed at me normally... We're declaring "dog" the first word we were sure was attached to the appropriate party. She now uses the sign for "all done" and points to things that she wants. She still shakes her head for no. She waves to people she knows, and usually refuses to do anything but stare at people who aren't in the "inner circle." She gives kisses when asked normally one time a day. The rest of the time if you ask her for kisses, she simply shakes her head no, or completely ignores you.

As of today she has two teeth! One is about half way up and the other is just now breaking through the gums.

And now...pictures! It's possible I went a little overboard this month...

Seriously, mom? You thought I'd keep this bow on my head?!

Sticking the sticker to the table...low blow, mom. Low.

Yeah that's better, hand it over.

I know just what to do with it!

Ha! So silly.

And then we went outside to take a few more pictures.

And K was really distracted by the barking dogs next door so I thought, "I don't really want to go back inside for a ball, so I'll hand her a tomato...looks just like a ball!"

And it worked!

Would you like a tomato, Mom?

We played our favorite game...drop it...

           And pick it up!

Until....we discovered that it was something to EAT!

Mom, this is kind of difficult to eat. Will you help?

Well, sure, that seems fine...

What. A. Mess.

So we got rid of the tomato, and took a moment to take in the view.

She's pointing at her super-fav, Nutty.

And finally, I thought I'd include a normal view of Kennedy from my perspective.

Love. Love. Love this girl.
