We went to the orthopedic doc on Monday and with a brief look at her x-rays, he said it was off to get a cast...I was.not.happy. And when we had to hold her still to get the cast as *gasp* STRANGERS played with her leg, Kennedy was.not.happy.
But now? We've adjusted. I'm pretty sure she adjusted more quickly than I did. It took me awhile to get over the cast and look forward. But now we're rockin' and rollin' all over again. See?
Yesterday we had friends over to play and discovered that shoes are, by far, the most fun toys.
This morning Kennedy tried to help Nutty eat his breakfast. Let's be clear. When I put her down it was on her back, on that blanket....
We will go tomorrow up to Children's National Medical Center to get an opinion on her leg from a Pediatric Orthopedic doctor. I had to be a really sweet pest to get the appointment...but I didn't leave the ADULT foot and ankle doctor feeling really warm and fuzzy about his treatment of my 6 1/2 month old's femur...so I was willing to be THAT parent... Hopefully, they'll have great news for us. For now, the plan is that she'll be in "the big pink monster" (Thanks, Ashley Pugh for the name) for 4 weeks. And if you're counting, that means it would come off after we've moved out of our current house....which is complicated, so here's hoping that tomorrow's appointment changes that plan!
And in case I don't get a chance to do thankfuls later, I am SUPER thankful that Kennedy's boyfriend Will did this for her yesterday. It made my day.

So much love and definite hope that cast time is minimized tomorrow (at the least)! Much love, strength, and patience for you all!
