...well can you come up with something better for Monday?!
Today I'm super thankful for my teammates who made this first day back from spring break kind of enjoyable. And that's saying something since I'm only just back from the beach...
Yesterday I got the most wonderful news and I just couldn't be more happy and thankful.
Today I watched the Bones episode where Bones has her baby. And all her friends come to see her and greet the baby when she gets home and I cried. Why? Because we're not moving so now I get to see all my friends after our little one is born and I am so excited about that. Obviously, it was that and the hormones. Crying is my specialty, friends.
I also just read this blog post and cried. For any of you who have been through a deployment, you will know EXACTLY what she's talking about. And for those of you who haven't been through a deployment, its still an enjoyable read. She's a former IOC spouse, so I can attest to the fact that she knows what she's talking about!
Andrew and I talked at dinner about the fact that we've stopped qualifying our statements about the baby. We used to say, "Assuming everything goes well, we'll finish decorating the nursery..." or "I'm really hopeful that we'll have a perfectly healthy baby in October." Now we're speaking as if its really going to happen. I'm so happy that we've both relaxed enough to let ourselves begin to enjoy this pregnancy rather than trying to prepare for horrible news constantly. As we said tonight at dinner, is there any real way to change things if something bad were going to happen? No. So we might as well enjoy the ride. A good friend once told me to tell myself, "today I am pregnant and I'm thankful for this day with my baby." Now if I can just get the two of us to relax a little more we'd both be better off! ;-)
