Andrew has always referred to his little sister, Allison, as his retirement plan. You see, she's in the "biz." When I first met Allison she was simply REALLY into movies. She was in high school and instead of watching movies because they were fun or to hang out with friends or because everyone said you just HAD to see that movie...she watched with a critic's eye. She was doing research. And she was planning a career. She went to college to pursue that career and even managed to spend a semester abroad making a film in Prague that would later win acclaim at a film festival! Who does that, right?!
So then she graduates and she moves out to Seattle to make this whole plan spring into action. She had some awesome opportunities working out there and had very little time working "a day job" before she got to commit to working on movies full time. I must say I was a little in awe. Tons of people SAY they're going to work in the film business, but I actually am related to someone who DOES THAT!
Well recently, as you know, Andrew's mom had some health issues and Ally packed up and headed to WI to help out. While she was there, she took the opportunity to apply for a very prestigious graduate school program. A ton of people apply for this school and very few get in. And of course, being the awesome sister-in-law that she is, Ally secured herself a spot in the program.
There's only one issue. Good gracious is this place expensive. So Ally has set up this website to take donations to help with the cost. So check out the link. I particularly enjoy the people who have "bought drinks" for her by donating the cost of a drink to her cause. That and the pictures. Because let me be honest with you. My sisters are quite adorable. You'll only find pictures of one of them here...but trust me, they're both adorable.
