Well Hello Tuesday

So. Monday wasn't a good day. Monday was mean to me. It called me names and made me feel yucky. But then it ended. And Tuesday came along. And oh how much better I feel on Tuesday. Thank you to all of you that helped me through Monday and made me laugh and smile on Tuesday.

Now then. I have to go backwards to Sunday. I have to fill all of you in on the lessons learned on Sunday.

Lesson #1: Couponing pays off.

I went to Target armed with a list and a stack of coupons. I bought (if I counted correctly) 15 items including toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, and peanut butter. How much would I have spent without my coupons? $78.52. So how much did I save? (please cue a drumroll) $29.03. AAANNNNNDD I have a $5 gift card to use on my next trip.

Lesson #2: So THAT's what poison ivy looks like!

I came home from Target and Ben and Andrew were ripping out the overgrown plants/weeds/vines in our side yard. I grab a folding chair and sit down to observe. In true "supervisor" fashion I'm checking out the plants they're ripping out when I notice this vine running up a tree and all along the ground where they are. "Hey, honey? Is that poison ivy?" Andrew looks at my quizzically. So I do what any modern girl would do when the man in her life can't answer her question. I Wikipedia-ed on my blackberry. "Hey, honey? I'm pretty sure it is. Come look at the picture." Andrew comes over and looks......then says, "So. Good lesson guys. Great learning here. That's what poison ivy looks like. Glad we could learn that today."

See? Yet another reason I need a smartphone, that poison ivy is not fun stuff!

But it sure makes for fun reading. Glad Tuesday was a friendlier day! Christine

You totally left out the other lessons we learned! Don't use the weed whacker to chop through its' own power cord, don't use the rake as a hatchet, and generally don't trust the hired Polar Bear with tools that you value. :-P But it was a good time (and the side yard looks a lot better!)
