If you are a teacher you understand the amazingness (don't judge my made-up word, you know you like it...) of a teacher workday. It's quiet. You get things done. Your room looks better at the end of the day rather than worse. And most of all.....and this is big, y'all.....you get to hear your FIRST name all day long. If you're not someone who goes by "Mrs._______" all day long and hears your name in surround sound for anything and everything that's going on in the lives of 23 kids, you may not understand how amazing it is. So today I was Ashley. And I liked it.
Admittedly, a classroom feels a little strange when you're not expecting to hear kids bursting through the door at 8:35. And I did have to go visit Shannon for a Logan story in the middle of the day because there were no students providing amusing entertainment for me. But I got to eat Panera food for lunch.....and it was yummy!
I got a new student today. It'll be interesting to meet her tomorrow. Please let her be sweet and on grade level!
The even better news is that this workday crosses Monday off my list of things to do this week! On to Tuesday!
