Confessions of an Emotional Eater.

I admit it. I eat when I'm bored. I eat when I'm not happy. I eat just for fun! I love food. And I have a ridiculous sweet tooth. Right, I know what they say. Eating won't solve anything. Eating won't make you feel better.....sorry, I beg to differ. I DO feel better after I bake the cake and eat a giant slice! It can't be just me.

So I tell you all of that to tell you this....

My friend Nicole told me about this oatmeal brand called Better Oats, and said I should try it. Now, I'm thinking, "Alright, I'll try it. But it's going to taste like oatmeal. Which will be just fine, but nothing amazing." I WAS SO WRONG. I've only tried two flavors at this point, but only one of them made me feel the need to dedicate an entire post to oatmeal.....CHOCOLATE. Holy moly SPICY guacamole! (Thanks to a student for that phrase....) It. is. ah-may-zing. I've eaten it twice today. Once for breakfast and once for a snack. I added sliced bananas....even better! I'm imagining strawberries on top.....it'd be outstanding. And check out these nutrition facts: 160 calories, 2.5 grams of fat and tons of good for you stuff too. Um, yeah. Oh wait... you think this is like the Special K commercial where the woman is all excited over the Special K with the tiny little flecks of chocolate? NO. The entire bowl becomes warm chocolately deliciousness. AND it's not terrible for you (unlike the Chick-fil-a milkshake that's been yelling at me from down the street for a few days now).

Okay, admittedly I just started thinking about how amazing a scoop of vanilla ice cream would be on top of that delicious chocolate oatmeal.... I know, it's a problem. (But you're thinking about it now too, aren't you?!)

So really. Trust me and Nicole. Go buy the Better Oats oatmeal. You won't be sorry. So far I've found it at Wegmans and at Target. So no excuses, people!

I'm intrigued by this oatmeal, I don't really like oatmeal (and I'm trying to) so I may have to try it...
