I got an update today from Andrew's CO and I thought the information was wonderful to hear, and also made me realize just how lucky I am to be the half of this marriage that's here at home, watching TV, showering in my shower and sleeping in our bed.
Here's the update:
All the Marines are here and doing a fantastic job. I really can't describe just how well they are doing. They have the right attitude and mindset and definitely helping to make the city a better place. It is extremely busy and most of the Marines have pretty tough schedules but morale is high. Living conditions are different across the positions but every position uses the toilet the same way. Not to get to detailed or gross but involves bags and burning...you get the picture. It is sanitary and of course hygiene and sanitation are at the top of my list as it keeps the Marines healthy and in the fight. Almost every position has showers, some are like home, some are gravity fed, in the meantime they are in spitting distance to another postion that has showers, so its a quick patrol over and in goes a stinky Marine and out comes a clean Marine. All are able to do laundry some have water connections some have to use bottled water to fill the machine but they are able to stay clean. Hope that clears up living conditions. Additionally, the Marines have food but have also been eating the local cuisine which is fantastic.
I am hoping that Andrew will update us on what exactly the "local cuisine" entails, since I am not sure and I'm very curious. Overall, it sounds like things are going well for my hubby and I'm happy to hear it :-)

I miss you two. Do we have any idea when he's coming back to the "real world"?
