First, Grandpa Eckert came to visit. He’s Andrew’s grandfather, and therefore, is Kennedy’s great grandfather! Now, this was while I was REALLY sick and poor Andrew was running Daddy duty and full-time wife care. He was quite busy, but still managed to capture a few really good pictures of Grandpa Eckert with Kennedy.
When he left, my parents swooped in to help get the house ready for our next visitor. Aren’t they wonderful? We certainly think so. And seriously, can you tell these two are related?!
Then Marissa flew in to spend some time with her niece. Missy was SO happy to hang out with Kennedy and the feeling was obviously mutual. She also took those GORGEOUS pictures I posted of Kennedy and there are more to come from our photo shoots!
Then we did something shocking and amazing….we spent some time just as our little family for a few days! This is the longest we’ve gone without helpers and company since she was born! I think we’re doing just fine…see?!
And then it was time for Halloween. We went with a traditional set of costumes this year- a ghost, a black cat and two adorable pumpkins. And then we tried to capture pictures… I couldn’t help it, I had to post the out takes too…
Here’s Nutty prior to us torturing him with the hat that matches his adorable pumpkin costume.
Here’s our cutest pumpkin. Notice the paw in the picture…big brother is keeping an eye on this situation.
And then we tried for a family picture…with both pumpkins…both hats…no one screaming and both parents smiling…it was a lot to ask…
First the camera went off when we weren’t really expecting it…
Then it didn’t focus on anything in particular…please note that this appears to be the best picture of the bunch…if it had been in focus…
Then we had Kennedy screaming and Nutty asking Daddy what in the world was going on….
Then Nutty attempting to rub his hat off his head…and we gave up on the idea of a good family shot….
Pumpkins!
And a hat malfunction…
Have you noticed yet how unamused Kennedy seems by the event?
And a few more attempts at pictures of our little pumpkins…
See? Daddy’s girl.
We’d like to title this picture, “Pumpkin’s gonna knock you out!”
And thank goodness it’s easy to find a good babysitter around here or you might never see another blog post! Here’s what the pumpkins are up to now!
