Ok so I've heard a lot of people requesting a picture of me on patrol here in Iraq (most likely cause they need proof that I'm actually getting out and doing something other than standing watch, eating, sleeping, and doing crossfit (let me know if anyone doesn't know what crossfit is and I'll be sure to dedicate an entire post to it later). So.... Here I am, carrying my trusty M4 5.56mm Carbine, my 9mm Beretta, my Kevlar, ballistic glasses, my flak, sapi plates, camel bak with 4 liters of water, gps, NVG's, pistol magazines, rifle magazines, combat knife (thanks again Mama K) gloves, knee pad on shooters knee, culturely sensitive mustache, drop pouch, gear pouch, gerber tool, and a motivation that cannot be matched. This picture is taken while on a combat foot patrol about a kilometer from where I lay my head in about 105` F weather. We're about an hour and a half into conducting census operations in New Rawah. Hopefully I may get a chance to post more pictures later on.

dude, you look beastly! is that the jacket thing ashley and i put together for you? and i would say you need to smile, but i can understand the lack of good feelings in extreme heat and such :) though i bet you would be smiling if you built a sandcastle :) thanks for the pic! it's nice to see your perky face! ;)
I enjoy seeing pictures of you, although, now I want a close-up of my son sporting a mustache! Tromping through muddy corn fields, during the summers here, must now seem like a walk in the park compared to walking around in all that gear in such heat. Love you lots, Mom
Hey Chief, good to hear from ya, it is also good to see my brother looking like a bad ass mother. Can't wait to see you again. Miss ya tons. What do you usually do to pass the time when your not really busy
Hey Ace! Good to finally get some news on what you have been up to since you made the trip across the pond again. Sounds like things are going well over there, and I hope they continue to do so. I'd like to hear more about Rawah: the people, the city, maybe get some pictures of the architecture and such. I miss ya tons bud, and I'll buy you a round when you get back. Take care!

Ace! Glad to see you've started a blog, I think it's a fantastic idea. I haven't heard from you in forever. It's good to know that you're doing well. I agree with what Clinton said. I'd like to hear more about the people you're meeting and what you think about the culture/daily life there. Also, what do you do with your free time? Do you have any free time?

OMG... so you know the first thing I'm going to do is steal this photo and blow it up and print it off!!! Everyone I know needs to see it and maybe even complete strangers, while doing so making it loud and clear just how proud I am of my Big brother Marine. I miss you every day bro!!!!!
I would like to know what a crossfit is.
