Renovations continue.....

So for the last two weeks I (Ace) have been working on the house after works hours. I get whatever I can get done, mostly concentrating on the smaller projects. Here are some pictures as proof that I've actually been working and not being lazy:

The cabinets have all been lined with shelf liner.

Many of the holes on the first floor have been patched and spackled.

So funny story here. Two weekends ago I ran to Raleigh (it was the first week after I moved in) specifically to get all the yard tools (ie lawn mower, weed wacker, etc.) We also made a run over the habitat for humanity store and picked up some odds and ends, of which included new lights for the down stairs. So since the best laid plans of mice and men always go awry, I got back to Stafford fully expecting to spend two days doing nothing but yard work. This was not to be. Rain came down in buckets, and I only had time to mow the front yard (feeling pretty confident that I was going to be struck by lightning.) Anyway since I wasn't able to get outside, the result was my installation of the new lights downstairs.

Eventually I was able to get a first hack on the front bushes with the hedge trimmer.

Last weekend Ashely and the Kennedy's came up again and we were fortunate enough to have dry weather. So Daddy K and I attacked the yard:

Ashley took the brackets off the deck while Misty supervised (ie laying down on the job):

Then we all moved back indoors. Daddy K and I did the chandelier and the chair legs, Ashley tore down wall paper, and Mamma K and Ashley repainted the upstairs closet.

All this while the dogs kept watch on the deck which was OBVIOUSLY a terrible tiring task:

So we continue to work on the house, and we look forward to eventually showing you pictures of the finished product.
