A new chapter begins

It's official. We have moved to Virginia. Well, sort of.

Actually, it's just Andrew that's moved to VA while Nutty and I hold down the old house in NC until the school year ends. But the good news is, we officially own the house in VA and things are off and running to make that house our new home.

Last weekend, all of us (Andrew, Ashley, Momma K, Daddy K, Chestnut and Misty) traveled to VA to begin work. First I must share the story of the light bulbs. Andrew called the rest of the gang to let us know that many of the lights were out in the house and that before we got there he hoped to replace light bulbs so that we would be able to see that evening. This sounded quite logical and we were very thankful for his hard work. About 30 minutes passed and Andrew called back. He said he had never seen so many different types of light bulbs in his life and there was no way he'd be able to go replace them that night. I must admit, we thought he was having a "moment." We figured that he's looking at the different wattages and assuming that he's going to need to replace each one as it currently is in the house. We arrived to find quite the contrary. Andrew was right. We've got more kinds of lights than any of us could have imagined. We've got regular lights, hallogen lights, shatter proof lights, mini spots, regular spots...and the list goes on. To replace these lights, Momma K and I enlisted the help of the light lady at Lowe's. It took about 30 minutes and about 100 dollars in light bulbs to fill all of our empty sockets! I can only imagine what else this house has in store. For now, a few pictures of what's been going on so far.

Here's the new kitchen...with all the signs of "moving in"
Whoa. What exploded in the family room?!
Daddy K and Andrew rebuilt one of the fence gates...it looked great when they were done and got Chestnut's wag of approval.
It was nice to discover we had some beautiful flowers and trees!
Stay tuned for more on the new house (and the old) coming soon!

wahoo, congratulations! And truly, who really thought different lighting needs for each fixture would be a 'bright' idea idea? Ha, just thought I'd lighten the frustration with that pun. <3 Okay, I'm done. I'm happy to read that the house and moving has worked out and that things are getting accomplished. We love you all!
