Homecoming!

I always enter a period of radio silence just before a homecoming occurs. It always feels like I can't possibly post anything to the blog without accidentally giving away the big event getting ready to occur.

Daddy came home on Valentine's Day! Kennedy and I shared a quick dinner at home before we headed out. Kennedy made sure we took a selfie for the big occasion.

We had to wait for a bit before Daddy actually arrived. We played, ate some chips and tried to be patient. Kennedy took Mommy's picture.

And Mommy took Kennedy's picture.

And then they told us the buses were on their way! It was super chilly outside waiting for those buses!

Finally, the big moment! The buses pulled up and Marines started pouring out. I wish I could properly describe the feeling of anticipation and slight frustration that occurs when they all pour out of the buses. It doesn't matter how well you know your husband, it's impossible to find him in a sea of people who look like him!

But. We. Found. Him.

There was the briefest of moments where I wasn't sure that Kennedy was going to go to her Daddy right away. And then?

She wouldn't let him go. For at least 36 hours after his arrival home, Mommy wasn't allowed to help Kennedy do ANYTHING because her DADDY had to do it. Love. It. It's so wonderful being a reunited little family again.

Got a little choked up reading that one. Love you guys. Glad he's home. Can't wait to see you all sometime in the coming months.
