Kennedy's Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend together as a family!

Friday night we had an 18 months celebration for Kennedy. At her first birthday party, we saved a big piece of her cake for us to share after Daddy came home from deployment and we decided this was the right occasion.

Saturday was a super busy day. We got up and went shopping for supplies for our garden at Lowe's. Clearly, Kennedy thought Lowe's was AWESOME!

We came home and put the plants in the backyard and then headed to our neighborhood Easter block party for egg hunts and bounce houses!

At first, our K was a little unsure of the bounce house. But once we declared it "2 and under time" in the bounce house, she loved it.

I climbed in to try to get her to actually bounce rather than just standing there....

Then bright and early Sunday morning we got up and got started planting that garden! Kennedy was the BEST helper.  (As a side note, this is her saying "cheese" she is not, as it might appear, in pain and being tortured...)

And we spent some time swinging like a BIG KID at the park. She does NOT need you to hold on to her, thank you very much.

But our very favorite part of the weekend? Daddy was home to spend time with us. Kennedy was in heaven (I think Daddy was too :-))
