Summer's gone?!

Wow, this summer has flown by. I have just one week left to bask in the sunshine before I return to being a hardworking teacher. Just two weeks until students flood my classroom again! As promised, here's what I've been up to recently.

First there was the July 4th celebration at Camp Lejeune. Amanda, Sean, Sara and I went with chairs and picnic in hand to listen to the concert and enjoy the fireworks. It, as usual, did not disappoint. The dogs got in on the 4th action as well...

Then I headed to Memphis to see Shelly. Well, actually, I went to Memphis according to schedule, and Shelly missed our flight. So I guess technically, Shelly came to see me in Memphis! Either way, we had a blast. And what trip to Memphis is complete without an Elvis themed day...Welcome to Graceland, y'all.Shelly and I spent a lot of our time together wedding dress shopping. There was the good...the bad...and the very ugly. But you'll have to wait until next October to see the results of that fun :-) Then Shelly took me down to Mississippi to be up to no good at the casino. There we got to eat at Paula Dean's new restaurant. Man, was it good! Here we our with our good friend Paula...

After a week in Memphis, it was time to head home. I spent about a week here in Jacksonville before heading to the beach for fun with family. I love the sunrise over the Atlantic....here you can probably see why:
And now I'm back here at home preparing for a new school year! I hope you all are doing well!
